Slow Growth Saved Me

Jayda was 25 in Tacoma and running on urgency. She was working jobs she hated, convinced that grinding was the only way to survive. Raised by a single mom, she learned to work the worries away. Her routine was work, home, sleep, repeat.

Jayda wanted results now. Patience felt pointless and rest felt risky. She overworked, overcommitted, and still felt lost. The grind kept her moving, but trapped her in survival mode with no clear direction.

The Journey

The Journey

The Journey

She chased a truck driving dream and got hired at FedEx Ground. Ten-hour days and 100–150 stops made quitting feel logical. Then her dad said, stay and get the skills you need. This became a pivotal moment that she chose process over panic, progress over impulse.

Starting Point

Jayda slowed her life down enough to see it clearly. She named what was draining her: the yes habit, the rush, and the fear that rest meant failure. She observed her patterns without shame, reset her non-negotiables, and started protecting her energy with boundaries that held. Patience stopped being a concept and became a daily rep.

Then she rebuilt with intention. She stayed at FedEx Ground long enough to earn skill, not just a paycheck, then moved to FedEx Express to sharpen communication with businesses. Each season unlocked confidence and discipline. Step by step she earned her CDL and stopped chasing instant wins. Now she drives for a company she loves and feels present again.

Our Approach

80 Grit Consulting coached Jayda through a process that turned survival into structure. We started by helping her reset, slowing the noise long enough to hear what was true. Then we moved into Protect, so her mind could step out of urgency and her body could stop treating rest like danger. We helped her observe the patterns driving people-pleasing, overcommitting, and rushing past her own needs. From there, we built Unlock reps that strengthened skill, confidence, communication, and follow-through, so she wasn’t relying on motivation, she had a method. Finally, we supported her Reignite, reconnecting her to purpose so success became a feeling she could live in, not a finish line she kept chasing. Through one-on-one coaching, we made space for deeper reflection she couldn’t access while sprinting. We challenged the beliefs that made rest feel unsafe, named the expectations she was trying to outrun, and turned every insight into clear next steps. The result wasn’t a “new Jayda”—it was Jayda with clarity, boundaries, and proof.

Final Reflections

Jayda is 29 now and has had her CDL for almost three years. She drives for a company she loves and that treats her well. She has time for her parents, her siblings, her friends, and herself. She’s still learning patience, but she trusts the process lighter, clearer, and proud.
